|Spell Level: 2||Rarity: Rare (Forgotten Realms)|
|Components: V, S, M (a trumpet or horn, or a tiny model of the instrument made out of bone, ivory, wood, or metal)|
|Range: 10 ft/lv||Casting Time: 2|
|Duration: 1 rd/lv||Saving Throw: None|
|Effect: One banner and a possible fanfare|
When this spell is cast, the caster re-creates any, coat-of-arms, rune, heraldic symbol, or similar standard upon a banner of their choosing (a rigid, shield-like banner, a long pennant, or some other device). The caster can make the banner appear new or old, and can cause it to shed light as a light spell (of a hue and intensity chosen by the caster), or not. The caster can manifest the symbol in midair, at any point within range, or can set it against a structure (such as a wall or a door).
Along with the banner, the caster can choose to have a fanfare play for one round (or less). The fanfare must be trumpet or horn music that the caster has heard at some past time.
In the Forgotten RealmsEdit
The spell, created by Alustriel Silverhand, has been employed by armies and mercenary companies accross Faerûn to serve as signals and to highlight rallying points. It has also been employed by clever illusionists who seek to decieve others into thinking that some noble or person of high station is in attendance - a thief planning on robbing an inn room may think twice if the standard of the king is placed upon its doors.
