AKA: The Princes of Elemental Evil, The Elemental Lords

Archoelementals are powerful, unique elemental creatures, who often represent the Good and Evil sides of a given elemental energy. They are said to be among the most powerful elemental creatures in existence, each the master of great armies of elemental creatures, and each in control of great swaths of their elemental homeland. They are the elemental counterparts to Demon Lords and Courtly Fey, the unique entities of exceptional power that rule the realms they oversee.

List of ArchoelementalsEdit

  • Ben-Hadar, the Prince of Good Water Creatures
  • Chan, the Princess of Good Air Creatures
  • Cryonax, the Prince of Evil Ice Creatures
  • Imix, the Prince of Evil Fire Creatures
  • Ogremoch, the Prince of Evil Earth Creatures
  • Olhydra, the Princess of Evil Water Creatures
  • Sunnis, the Princess of Good Earth Creatures
  • Yan-C-Bin, the Prince of Evil Air Creatures
  • Zaaman Rul , the Prince of Good Fire Creatures

Good & EvilEdit

Archoelementals have a unique trait in that they are often dualistic -- there is one good one and one evil one for each of the four main elemental forces. There is one exception to this rule -- Cryonax, the Prince of Evil Ice Creatures, is not related to one of the four main elemental forces, and has no Good counterpart.

Archoelementals are further distinguished by this alignment because most normal elementals of all types are decidedly unaligned, without alliegiance to a moral code beyond self-interest and survival. This means that while the archoelementals do in fact leadgreat armies, there are always more elementals taking the pragmatic "middle road" then there are on either the Good or the Evil teams.

Relationship With The Elder Elemental GodEdit

The archolementals, especially Cryonax, are rumored to be the spawn of the mysterious entity known as the Elder Elemental God .

Status As DeitiesEdit

The archoelementals are largely considered to be on the cusp of godhood, possibly into demigod status, like other beings of similar power such as elder dragons and demon lords. They can grant spells to their worshippers, though mostly only low-level magic, and they do have cults on various worlds and throughout the planes. Of all the archoelementals, Olhydra seems to be the farthest along on the path of godhood, having vast numbers of worshippers amongst disparate individuals on many different worlds.
