Blasting pellets are simple alchemical items that cause a loud chain of explosions to erupt when a creature sets one off.
They come in a bag with enough pellets to cover a 5-ft. square. When a creature moves into an area covered in blasting pellets (or fights while standing in such an area), it must make a DC 15 Reflex save to avoid breaking one. A failed save breaks one, and thus detonates the entire area in a chain reaction that deals 1d6 sonic damage to the triggering creature. If the pellets are more thinly spaced, or thrown at a creature, they don't trigger.
Gnomes typically use these pellets as an alarm system, hiding them under leaves or gravel.
