This proficiency gives a character an innate sense of direction. By concentrating for 1d6 rounds, they can make a proficiency check, with success indicating they know the direction they are traveling in. Failing indicates the character has erred by 90 degrees. A critical failure the direction revealed is the exact opposite of the correct direciton.
Additionally, while traveling in the wilderness, the chance of a party with a proficient character in it getting lost is reduced by 5%.
Dwarves using this proficiency underground have a +2 bonus, but they take a -2 penalty when using this above ground. Sundered dwarves have the opposite: a -2 penalty when underground, and a +2 bonus when above ground.
