This variant of the darkness, 15' radius spell was developed by drow into something they can use more personally, that lasts for longer.

Creates an area of magical darkness centered on the caster. The area does not move once it is set in place. Even natural light brought into the area fails. A light spell will negate the drow darkness spell, and vice-versa, the spells cancelling each other out. A more powerful light spell, such as continual light overrides this spell.
