Causes plants to grow in the area, creating a thickly overgrown region that is virtually impassible.
Original D&D Edit
Growth of Plants Edit
Debuted in Men & Magic, for the magic-user. Supplement 3: Eldtritch Wizardry allows druids to use the spell as well, at a lower level.
- Spell Level 4 (magic-user) or 3 (druid)
- Range 12"
Causes an area of normal brush or woods to become thickly overgrown and entangled with creepers, vines, thorns, briars, etc., making the area essentially impassible. It can affect an area up to 30 square inches, the exact dimensions decided on by the caster.
Plant Growth Edit
Debuted in the Player's Handbook as a druid spell.
|Level: 3||School: Alteration|
|Components: V, S, M (mistletoe)|
|Range: 16"||Casting Time: 1 round|
|Duration: Permanent||Saving Throw: None|
|Area: 2" by 2" square per level|
Normal vegetation in the spell's area grows, entwines, and entangles to form a dense thicket. Movement though the area is limited to 1" or 2" for human-sized creatures. Areas without existing plants are unaffected by this spell. The spell ends if dispelled, and the effects of the spell can be countered by fire, labor, or other mundane means.
