Restores lost energy that has been drained by the undead.

Original D&D Edit

Restoration Edit

The spell is introduced in Supplement I: Greyhawk as a cleric spell. Anti-clerics can use the reverse.

  • Spell Level 7

The caster restores one full level of energy who has had it drained by the undead. It will not restore levels lost in other ways, nor does it add levels that haven't been lost. The use of this spell incapacitates the caster for 2d10 days, so NPC clerics are reluctant to cast it.

Reversed Edit

The target of the spell looses an energy level automatically.

Restoration Edit

Debuted in the Player's Handbook as a cleric spell.

Level: 7 School: Necromantic
Components: V, S
Range: Touch Casting Time: 3 rounds
Duration: Permanent Saving Throw: None
Target: Creature touched

Restores one life energy level lost to undead. The spell is only effective when cast within 1 day/caster level to be able to reverse the effect. Also restores the intelligence of a creature lost to feeblemind.

DM's Advice: This will cure all forms of insanity.

If the caster can make a successful attack and touch the target, the target loses a life level.
