Calls up a cloud of insects to harass your foes.
Summon Insects Edit
Debuted in the Player's Handbook as a druid spell.
|Level: 3||School: Conjuration/Summoning|
|Components: V, S, M (mistletoe, a flower petal, and a bit of mud or wet clay)|
|Range: 3"||Casting Time: 1 round|
|Duration: 1 round/level||Saving Throw: None|
|Effect: Conjured insects|
Summons a cloud of biting insects. There is a 70% chance that they are flying insects (bees, hornets, biting flies, or wasps), otherwise they are crawling (biting ants or pinching beetles). The cloud attacks any creature the caster designates, that target sustaining 2 points of damage per round and being incapable of action aside from fending off the insects. If the caster tries to change targets, the insects will take 1 round to switch, and crawling insects can only go about 12' per round over smooth ground. When underground, the druid has a 30% chance to conjure 1d4 giant ants instead (this chance might be higher near giant ant colonies).
DM's Advice: Flames and smoke prevent the insects from occupying the space, so creatures in these zones are not affected by the spell, and if a creature affected by the spell steps into such an area, the spell's effect ends for them.
